Winter for a day

Presidents Day Virginia snow

My son's first-ever snowman!

In the blink of an eye it snowed about 8 inches on Sunday with most of it melting today. I’m pretty sure I would have slipped into a horrible mood for months if we went through a completely snowless winter.

In my lifetime I’ve seen 7 of the top 10 least snowy winters in the Lynchburg area, but only 3 of the top 10 most snowy winters (one of which was 2 years ago).

Also, it’s very interesting to me to dive into those numbers and see that the winter of 1995-96 (my senior year of high school) had the most snow of all time and the following winter had the least snow of all time.

Anyway, that’s enough weather talk from me for a while, unless a March snowstorm comes along. We’ve had a few of those, too.

It is rare sitting here in Central, MD and hearing the weather man say, "Well, if you want to see snow this weekend, you better head SOUTH!"

I can't believe there was so much snow so close to us, and we got n-a-d-a! Love the pics!
