Running happy
I ran 3+ miles tonight. In back-to-back days I’ve ran 5+ miles. That’s the first time I’ve done that since early November. That being said, they’re not great miles. My knee doesn’t hurt, but these miles are slow and I’m over-thinking them. Slowly, but surely I’ll get there. For now, though, I have to be happy that Duke is happy. Despite our collision the other night, his attitude about running never changes. You can learn a lot from a dog. (Yes, I pretty much said that last night.)
See, just look how happy he is. His tail is wagging so hard it’s blurry. He nearly attacked me tonight while I was putting my shoes on.
When we got back, he huffed and puffed with that same grin on his face for a good 20 minutes. It’s actually kind of motivating to see how it makes him feel.

lol. I already warned Looie that he too, will soon be running. I got a dirty look.
Love that he loves running too. Almost makes me want to get a dog. Almost.
That's awesome you are getting back into running! I used to run before I got some annoying repetitive strain injuries in my calves. I miss it. So, even though they might not be pretty miles, it sounds like you are grateful that you even have the opportunity to be running…..with an awesome little companion at your side!
haha that's awesome your dog GETS IT. Mine does not. It's a game of yo-yo and I think he irritates my ITB by doing that. But, he's only 10 months old, so, I gotta give him some slack. I love happy dog faces. So hard to be in a bad mood when the dog is smiling big at you.
So, I know you're going slower to listen and feel everything out, but someone told me don't go slow, it's just putting more time on the injury..don't know if it's the same situation, but I thought I'd throw it out there.
So glad to hear that your runs have been pain-free. One thing that I never did last year was run with my dogs. That's definitely going to change this year as things begin to warm up more. We have 2, and I don't think I could handle them both at the same time very easily while running, so I'll have to switch off. I'm really looking forward to it, and I'm sure they'll love it to!
