1. The weather …
Upper 30s/low 40s for the start, mid/upper 60s for the high. Sunny. While I’d prefer clouds and a little cooler temperatures for the high, it’s tough to complain about the forecast after running in some crazy hot and humid conditions this summer.
It’s PR weather for sure.
2. The people …
I can’t wait to meet some #RunChat supporters (click here for details on a meet-up), as well as having Scott come down for the weekend since he couldn’t run the NYC Marathon last weekend. Richmond has been very welcoming to NYCM entrants.
I’m also looking forward to seeing my sister’s reaction to finishing her first half marathon this weekend. She’s talked to me for a long time about running, and I’m exciting to see her get ready for it.
3. The fun …
This is what these 26.2 miles are about: having fun. I’m focused on my goal and I have a plan “B” in mind, but I also want to make sure that whatever happens on the course that I enjoy myself over the whole weekend.
There are a lot of things coming to an end with this race and I want to make sure it’s a big celebration for so many reasons.
Can’t wait to hear all about it!!! Best of luck to your sister too. I will never forget my first half marathon!
You seem more than ready to take this on David - good luck!
Good luck to you and Scott! Have a ball-it certainly is PR weather and a PR course, so it’s yours for the taking!
Hi. I’m envious of your marathon weather.
That’s all.
No, not really, but LUCKY!! Good luck, I know you’ll dominate those 26.2 miles!
I hope you meet your goal. Thanks for your support and encouragement!! Here’s to having fun.
Good luck David! You have put in a lot of great training for this race. I know you will do great. Have fun out there and I’ll keep my out for you this weekend.
