Fall plans

My approach to the Richmond Marathon just took a turn that I think it needs: a tune-up race.

Three weeks before Richmond is the Runner’s World Half Marathon. When I saw this race earlier this year I was intrigued by it. I knew, though, that I’d have to work around the timing of it.

After thinking a lot about it and then working behind the scenes with Bart Yasso of Runner’s World, I am happy to announce that #RunChat is now an official part of that race weekend. And yes, that means I’ll be running the race.

I couldn’t be more thrilled to be a part of this first-ever event. Scott and I will have more details on this in the coming weeks. You can find an exclusive #RunChat discount here.

As for my training plans, it’s time to plot out my long runs carefully over the next couple of months to first get in the right mileage for Richmond and then to get to this starting line with a reasonable goal that will benefit my marathon 3 weeks later.

That’s awesome. Wish I could make it to this #runchat meet up!

We’ll have more! I’m definitely planning to do one at the Blue Ridge Marathon in April.
